How to identify Laptop model number (with VIDEO)?
If your laptop has been ruined owing to some circumstances, it is certain that you will have to wait for a few days to get the device repaired. Knowing the laptop/notebook’s model number can speed up your repair process fairly.

If you could tell your repair mechanic or service provider the exact model number of your device, it would be a great help for him and he could save much amount of your time.

In fact, the model number of your laptop/notebook is necessary for not only getting a faster repair, but also purchasing accessories, screens, batteries, chargers, and many other computer parts.

Here, we are going to share with you different techniques to find out your laptop’s model number which will be applicable to almost all laptop brands.

For HP Laptop

For HP notebooks, press the Function(Fn) and Escape(Esc) keys together. The HP System Information window should appear on your screen. This window might appear differently on some devices, but it will usually include product information such as the product name and serial number.

For Dell Laptop
Method 1: Look for the product label on your computer.
The label may be on or near the:
1. Bottom cover, base, or back of the product
2. Battery compartment
3. Screen, keyboard trim, or palm rest

Method 2: Open the Dell SupportAssist application for Windows.
1. In the Search Box, type SupportAssist.
2. Select SupportAssist in the search results to open the application. If SupportAssist is not listed in the search results, it means that the application is not installed on your computer. 3. Your product model is displayed on the main screen of the application.

Method 3: Open the Windows System Information window.
1. In the Search Box, type System.
2. In the list of search results, under settings, select System.
3. Look for Model: in the System section.

Method 4: Access your computer's BIOS.
1. Turn on your computer.
2.When you see the Dell logo screen, press the F2 key once per second to access the BIOS. If Windows starts, then you must restart your computer after startup completes and try again.
3. On the BIOS menu, find the product model in the menu title or listed under System Name.

For Acer Laptop
Your SNID and serial number are located on a label on the bottom of your product.
Your serial number is also available in your system BIOS, and accessible via the Acer software programs listed below:
Serial Number Detection Tool (All Windows Versions)
Download and run the Serial Number Detection tool
Both serial number and SNID will be displayed.

Acer Care Center:
Press the Windows key
Type care center and press Enter.
Both serial number and SNID will be displayed in the application.


For Lenovo laptop
Method 1 : Using the Printed Product Label
Lenovo Laptops have labels that are found on the back of the laptop or sometimes can be hidden behind a battery or behind another back-side panel like a RAM or HDD door. Unless found on the back cover itself a label with the model number information will be found after removal of the battery on the bottom of the laptop. Please do not confuse a model number with a serial number.

Method 2 : Using the Lenovo Service Bridge/Lenovo Vantage
Lenovo Service Bridge is an application that provides increased functionality between your system and the Lenovo Support Site. With Service Bridge installed, you can click use our support site to automatically scan your product to find its name and serial number.

Method 3 : Using the Access Of BIOS
This method is the last option but the most successful one. If above methods did not work on your computer, you can rely on this.
BIOS stands for Basic Input/output system, you can access this system and find out the information about your computer using the steps given below:
1. Close all your applications and save in case you are doing some important work. Restart your laptop.
2. Press F1 at the Lenovo, ThinkPad, ThinkStation, or ThinkCentre logo during bootup.
Note: For some models, instead of pressing F1, continuously press Enter during powering on until a Startup Interrupt Menu displays. The screenshot is for reference. The actual menu will be different.
3. If you failed to go to the boot menu, again restart your computer and follow the above steps again.
4. Once you get into the BIOS, you can see the full information such as model number, the product number of your laptop.


For ASUS Laptop
Method 1 : You can find the model name on the label which is pasted on the back of the laptop.
For example: X302LA

Method 2: Check from DXDiag
1.Input “DXDIAG” in Windows Search bar
2.The model name will be displayed under the system model field. (as shown in the red area).

Method 3: Please check the package box for sticker label. The model name is listed on sticker label as red mark.
